TUI Flex Tariff Upgrade: What Travelers Need to Know About Flexible Booking and Cancellation

Planning a vacation often requires navigating strict cancellation policies. Tour operator TUI offers a 'Flex Tarif' upgrade for eligible bookings, designed to give travelers more flexibility regarding rebooking and cancellations.

Key Features of the Flex Tariff

The Flex Tariff is an optional upgrade available for select package holidays and hotel-only bookings. According to the reported details, key parameters include:

• Operator: TUI and airtours
• Cancellation and Rebooking Deadlines: Up to 15 or 29 days prior to arrival, depending on the specific booking and flight type (such as scheduled versus charter flights).
• Refund Details: In the event of a cancellation within the specified timeframe, the total travel price (excluding the Flex Tariff fee) is reported to be refunded via the original payment method.
• Exclusions: The tariff is reported as unavailable for certain products, including X-TUI, Fly & Mix, ltur, round trips, non-refundable rates, flexible rates, airtours Cruises, airtours Private Travel, TUI Cars & Camper, TUI à la carte, TUI Cruises, FLYLOCO, and direct debit payment methods.

How to Verify and Book

Travelers interested in the upgrade must filter their search for 'TUI' and 'airtours' on the official platform. During the booking process, if the offer displays notes such as free cancellation with the Flex Tariff, the upgrade can be selected. For trips exceeding a value of 20,000 €, the upgrade must reportedly be requested via telephone at +49 511 567 8600.

Because terms, specific pricing, and exact eligibility criteria can change, travelers should independently review the official guidelines and booking conditions directly on the TUI Flex Tarif Service Page.
