Unofficial 3D Interactive Map Tracks Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an's Policy Record and 2022 Pledges

An independent, unofficial 3D interactive map has been developed to track Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an's policy record and announced city plans for the 2022–2026 term. Created as an open-source project hosted on GitHub, the platform maps municipal data across ten thematic islands while providing public sources and verification dates for every listed item.

Project Overview and Structure

The platform organizes municipal data into ten policy areas, encompassing transport, urban development, industry and technology, housing, family and education, senior and health care, safety and resilience, the environment, culture and sports, and international exchange. Each entry is assigned an implementation status—such as done, in progress, planned, or re-election pledge—backed by public records from the Taipei City Government and mainstream media outlets.

• Multiple Map Views: Users can navigate between 3D island visualizations, a structured list view, a chronological timeline, a 2022 campaign pledge tracker, a citizens' ledger, and a historical mayors relay.
• Citizens' Ledger: Tracks demographic group benefits and long-standing municipal problems, showing before-and-after indicators based on numerical records rather than policy announcements.
• 2022 Pledge Tracker: Evaluates 83 campaign pledges against public records, categorizing fulfillment status based on original wording, deadlines, and scope.
• Mayors Relay: Examines actions and controversies across directly elected Taipei mayors since 1994, utilizing consistent inclusion criteria and neutral term-based categorization.

Technical Implementation

Built using native ES modules and Three.js, the web application renders interactive 3D dioramas, district landmarks, and animated avatars while maintaining performance optimizations for mobile devices and fallback options for systems without WebGL support. Independent reviewers have cross-checked items against primary sources to ensure factual accuracy.
