Uttar Pradesh Plans Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Skill and Employment Scheme for 2026

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced plans to launch the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Kaushal Prashikshan Evam Rozgar Kshetra Vikas Yojana on October 31, 2026. Designed by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department, the initiative aims to provide industry-oriented skill training and enhance employment opportunities for young people across all 75 districts of the state, which have been organized into nine zones.

Proposed Training and Facilities

According to the announced objectives, the scheme intends to cater to diverse educational backgrounds:

• Technical Upskilling: Tailored for youth holding ITI, polytechnic, and engineering qualifications.
• Basic Training: Aimed at students from non-technical backgrounds, such as humanities and commerce.
• Language Training: Offers instruction in Indian and foreign languages to prepare candidates for job markets in other states and abroad.

The proposed training centres are planned to include residential hostel facilities, employment offices, and dedicated placement cells. Additionally, the government plans to deploy digital dashboards, data analytics, and artificial intelligence-based tools to monitor training activities and outcomes.

Phased Implementation and Infrastructure

The initiative is scheduled to roll out in phases, with the first phase establishing centres in five cities: Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), and Jhansi. These centres are expected to be set up through models like Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) or via government institutions, receiving between 10 to 25 acres of land.

While the framework outlines broad goals, interested individuals should note several important caveats:

• Eligibility and Guidelines: Official eligibility criteria, detailed application procedures, required documents, and fixed financial assistance or stipends have not yet been formally confirmed through verified scheme guidelines.
• No Job Guarantees: Although placement cells and links with recognised agencies are planned, job placement is not guaranteed.
