Amethi to Host Massive Industrial Corridor Along Purvanchal Expressway

Development Plan

The Uttar Pradesh government is moving forward with plans to establish a high-tech industrial corridor in Amethi, situated along the Purvanchal Expressway. This project aims to transform the local economic landscape by attracting large-scale industrial units and creating new employment pathways for regional youth.

Project Scope and Location

The corridor is proposed near Musafirkhana, specifically surrounding the area near milestone number 58 on the Purvanchal Expressway, close to Unchgaon and Sevra villages in the Shukul Bazar development block. The initiative is set to span approximately 250 hectares in total.

Current Status

District Magistrate (DM) Shashank Chaudhary and Superintendent of Police Sarvanan T conducted an on-site inspection to assess the project’s progress. According to the administration:

• First Phase Acquisition: The acquisition and purchase process for the initial 148 hectares of land has been completed.
• Remaining Land: Officials are currently accelerating the acquisition process for the remaining 102 hectares.
• Administrative Directive: The District Magistrate has instructed relevant departments to complete all land-related formalities in a time-bound manner to prevent delays in construction.

Expected Impact

The strategic proximity to the Purvanchal Expressway is expected to provide seamless connectivity for the transport of raw materials and finished goods. Beyond the primary industrial units, the project is anticipated to create a ripple effect on local businesses, including logistics, transport services, hotels, and retail trade. This development is projected to generate thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities for residents in Amethi and neighboring districts.
